spinfocalypse: “Dress Like a Nerd Day”

Frankly, I find a "Dress Like A Nerd Day" outrageous. Maybe because being a nerd was never cool when I was in school, though it has become sort of the "new cool", along with tech geekery. Such an event seems bent on bringing that outcast status back. I suppose inquiring nicely is the ticket--not my general method, but what the hell, it's sometimes much more satisfying to sweetly ream somebody a new one.

Dude, you need a better comeback strategy. Next time it's "dress like a Nerd", embrace it. Clothe your son in jeans and t-shirt, stuff a few fat wads of cash down every pocket he has (raid your Monopoly money stash), cut out a few politicians you print out, reinforce them with cardboard, and stick 'em down his back pocket (because we all know, if you're rich and smart you have at least five politicians in your back pocket), give him one of your cameras and make sure he films everything, and when asked to tell the teacher he is documenting their conduct for the California Board of Education - since Nerds have a conscience and a strong sense of what is right and wrong. Find a "WE WON" WWII front page and print it out, since Nerds and Enigma won that war.

Make sure the T-Shirt is massively offensive, too, being Nerds see beyond the petty offense mundanes take at words.
