I read and study ninja theory and teachings without the physical aspects. I also like taking walks and going to the beach to write. And don't do nearly enough stuff offline that I should.

now would kayaking count if while waiting for the 3rd member of our group to finish getting his gear all together I and my buddy were talking about twitter... (even resulting in him pulling out his iphone to show his fav. twitter app)? I mean, 2 minutes later we were in the water actually kayaking (although my friend would have brought along the phone if they ever start offering completely water-proof versions of it)....... :)
I usually twitter when i'm waiting for something to render/upload/finish cooking... i.e. bored.
So short answer to your question is: Everything.
A better question in my case would be: what are you doing while twittering... although i wouldn't ask that on a post because although i know people use their phones two twitter while on the can... i really just don't need to know that...

I like to read, and the Kindle has helped me to catch up on some book learnin' even if it's just a few pages at a time. And I like to write, both the blogging thing and a long and sometimes tortuous journey into stuff that's more "creative" (sometimes there's more quotes around that word than at other times...). I'm also a TV nerd and love nothing better than having laptop on lap and something on the tube.

Luckily I'm married to a wonderful woman who drags me out of the house. We go hiking, we take walks, we'll ride our bikes around town every now and again. I'm trying to get into shape, so will take little jogs with my dog.

I'm also a big fan of music and shows and am trying to bring that element back into my life after a year+ nearly consumed with work. I locked in seeing REM at the Hollywood Bowl next month and just got tix to see The Kids in the Hall live, which I expect to be nothing less than epic. Also heading to New York in June where I have lots of family and friends, so I always store up my energy for nightlife stuff for those trips.

Well, it's about time you asked! (By the way, most of my Twitter posts answer this very question. I try to keep to Twitter's question, "What are you doing?")

Over the past year I've been taking at least one online course through a local community college each semester, currently enrolled in a Visual Basic study. At the same time I'm attempting, yet again, to learn other languages (such as Ruby), through self-study. After learning at least the fundamentals of these languages, I might pick one to focus more deeply on.

I'm going to be looking for work soon.

I read *alot*, and not just online (though I do read alot online). Currently reading a Camus novel, "The Fall", but my tastes vary. (I just finished reading a few sci-fi novels, including two by Carl Sagan's son Nick and one by Phil K. Dick and one by Gibson.) I read alot of magazines, too, such as Game Developer (even though I don't know how to develop & am not much of a gamer).

I try to get my exercise by talking long walks; I haven't gone to the gym in years.

I just quit smoking (again).

I've been seeing a psychiatrist for a few years, but she's moving her practice and I'm not sure I'll be seeing another shrink regularly anymore. I'm not crazy, just depressed sometimes. Most of the time, maybe.

I *love* music, and I *love* good stories. Put them together & BAM! I'm in heaven (at least until a good-looking woman distracts me)! It bugs me that women distract me so much; I would like to get more done, but I do love them so...

I want to be content, not necessarily rich.

I used to hike, but now I walk. I often walk from my home to Santa Monica, a couple of hours away.

I think about my mom all the time, and I'm unhappy that she lives in a nursing home.

I sometimes wish I "got my shit together" when I was younger.

For a few years I've been thinking about getting a bike.

I eat too much.

I think I'm (mostly) healthy, but my stomach is a bit flabby.

I spend too much time concerned with my neighbors, who I wish I could avoid more often but can't because I live in a house in which several 20to30-somethings share. (It was once a fraternity.) I live in a nice neighborhood, though -- safe and where a great deal of all movie premieres take place. Lots of intelligent students in my neighborhood, and lots of dopes in my house.

Sometimes I have panic attacks, but I haven't had one in a long time.

I love theme parks. Wish I could go to them more often.

Well I think you know what I do. I live in a fortress of solitude called Taiwan(formerly Isla Formosa) and make stuff for people and help other people sell stuff in Asia. I like Asia, and that most Asians not interested in things like Twitter but in making money working hard and taking care of their families.

I grew up in a pretty isolated (at least geek-isolated) part of the country/world, so a lot of my pure socialization happens over computer mediated channels (mostly not web 2.0 'social media,' though-- more often telnet, irc, and IM). I also enjoy and obsess over cooking and enjoying food, my cats, reading (a lot), dancing, video games, board games, and, when I can, horseback riding.

I have a standing social outing Monday nights with a local group of friends that's been sustained over the past 5 years and I think it's been exceptionally valuable.

Music addict so I am constantly blogging about music. Are you on http://www.last.fm? If not, get with it!! Talk lots of trash (nothingness) to some people. Just to free my head up of the nonsense I see sometimes here online. I read a lot but more os of newspapers online but I would like to finish reading all these zillions of books I have before I continue to make Barnes & Noble rich. I need to play more outside. I am now making mandatory play time for myself. We need to have that on twitter where we yell out PLAAAAY TIME! ;) I used to be an exercise manaic but twitter totally stopped that and I really need to get back to the gym for my exercise club is making a KILLING off of me financially! U made me realize how addicted I am to twitter. The insanity needs to 2 end!!

Does *actually writing* code count as echo free? I actually do find a beauty and poetry to code that I find fascinating outside of the whole social media stuff. I also read voraciously, both books and comics. Most of my preferred fiction is sci-fi or epic fantasy, and I've been known to plow through a decent amount of non-fiction at a time. My girlfriend and I spend an inordinate amount of time haunting the local bookstores. I also watch a ton of movies with similar preferences, with the exception of occasional bouts of what I call "the Buffy sickness" when I compulsively re-watch episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer for days.

I used to study a martial art called Aikido, which I'm including in the list because I've developed an itch to go back to the dojo. When I'm near the ocean I like to scuba dive off any nearby reef, although I find lake diving to be so boring as to not be worth the trouble.

I write quite a bit, and sure a lot of it is on the computer, but I have a particular fascination with the feeling of putting pen to paper, and so I tend to spend too much money on Cross pens and Moleskin (or similar) notebooks.

I'm on the board of my professional association, which deals with a lot of labor relations stuff for the employees we represent.

I'm a good cook, and enjoy experimenting with new recipes. Playing games and harassing the cat are always good for laughs as well.

i mentioned drinking and internal debate but I also build websites that kids squeal over, take pictures of food, read a lot of fiction, obsess over music, go see live music, flirt mercilessly with feminists, and laugh. A lot.

When I'm not on the internet doing web2.0 stuff ...

I am a distance runner. The feeling I get from running is unequaled by anything else. It makes me feel truly alive. I don't run for competitive reasons but for that feeling.

Otherwise, I spend as much time as I can outdoors. We are lucky to live in the most heavily forested part of Toronto. We have the largest park in the city just down the street (complete with a pond and a small zoo) and only a couple of KM from the longest river in Ontario and Lake Ontario itself.

Among the animals I see on a regular basis: Swans, ducks, Canada Goose, Great Blue Herons, beavers (in High Park pond). I even saw a tiny red fox first thing in the morning.

At night, my man and I like to sit on the back deck. All is great until the family of Raccoons comes ambling over the garage roof to poke about our recycling.

In a month or so we'll head up north to Alonguin Park to camp. I love camping. I wait all year to go.

Otherwise, I like cooking and reading. Right now I'm reading MT Anderson's Feed and revisiting Gibson's Pattern Recognition (although I keep losing interest).

That's it. I like to keep my non-working life as simple as possible (that is, until we have kids).

Spin, I used to golf a lot, taking that back up because I miss being outside! Typically, I'm working on developing my business since CMP Metaverse and CMP itself no longer exist. I also am delving into other virtual worlds, working out regularly now, and am teaching myself some software programs I've not taken time to really learn, but own and use. Also looking for speaking opportunities and anything else that comes to mind related to my business goals.

That's what I <3 about you, no matter the subject you bring it back to flesh and bone -- being a human!

I live in Hawaii so it would be a complete waste if I didn't have a life outside of the walls of the internet. Coaching a youth basketball team, surfing (not 'net ocean waves) and hopefully soon tai chi! Professionally, I am working on a few business ideas that include the youth, promoted on the 'net but won't require being plugged in.

Since this is somewhat of a confessional, I cannot have enough legal sized pads of paper or graph paper and sharpened #2 pencils!

Hey what about your video ventures? Too plugged in, doesn't qualify for this topic?

I get down with spending a lot of time on planet wifey, BMX (and now developing a fetish for fixed-gear bikes as well), writing, drawing, reading Comics, boxing, photography, spending a lot more time time on planet wifey, video games (as therapy!), sneaker-pimpin', and weekly runs to the barbershop.
